27-28 August | First dialogue of the EU with the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

On 27-28 August the EU and the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will discuss how the EU has been implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. During this ‘dialogue meeting’, the UN Committee (composed of 18 independent experts from different parts of the world) and the EU delegation led by Michel Servoz will engage in a question and answer session.

 

It is the first time, since the EU ratified the CRPD that the UN Committee is reviewing how the EU has been implementing its obligations as a party to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. On 3 September, the Committee will issue its concluding observations and make recommendations for follow-up.
